Water\u00a0should not contain contaminants like particles, trace elements, chemicals, organic matter, bacteria or bacterial fragments. Since this\u00a0water\u00a0is in direct contact with the blood stream any impurities in the\u00a0dialysis water\u00a0has the potential to pass to the patient. Dialysis water\u00a0treatment should remove chemical and microbial contaminants to allowable limits.
